Since MTV’s show “True Life – I’m a Gay For Pay Porn Star,” straight men doing gay porn are suddenly a hot topic. But here in porn we’ve been debating about these guys for a looooong time. So, is gay porn “just a job” that straight men should be able to do, too? Or are we cheating both the viewer and “real” gay talent by casting these straight guys? Some of gay porn’s top stars chime in!

NICK CAPRA – @nickcapra

In general, I have no issue with gay for pay performers.

I expect every performer, gay or straight, to bring authenticity to the scene. Some gay for pay performers aren’t willing to surrender to that, and the scene ends up looking contrived. However, I’ve worked with several gay for pay performers who were more passionate and connected than some gay performers!

DUNCAN BLACK – @iamduncanblack

For the most part I don’t mind. A lot of gay4pay models are really good performers. It’s the ones that have to many limits that bother me.

BILLY SANTORO – @BillySantoroXXX

In light of the recent episode of “MTV True Life – I’m a Gay4Pay Porn Star” where a model equated gay sex to “fucking a watermelon,”  I am more guarded now. I have worked with some amazing G4P performers who ARE GAY during the filming of their scenes; I have also worked with straight guys who have performance issues and big ‘no’ lists. Gay or straight, if you cannot perform on a passionate and connected level, then you are not a good partner for me.

THEO FORD @THE_THEO_FORD

I don’t mind working with anyone as long as they are professional; I never discriminate. Some gay for pay performers are incredibly talented. I believe in pure professionalism, in the sense that this is a job. It should be performed with the same level of respect as any other job.

RODNEY STEELE – @rodneysteelexxx

If offered a scene with a “Gay for Pay” performer, speaking from two prior pairings, I’d pass. I found both the experience and the finished product to be substandard. During filming the performance was limited, the sex was overly scripted, and the straight performer had a laundry list of boundaries and “don’t’s”. The best porn starts with a connection between the performers, and that type of connection is impossible for a gay for pay performer.

MAX SARGENT @Sargent_Max

I do not mind working with ‘gay for pay’ straight actors provided that they understand the criteria; that their pay is contingent on portraying gay men authentically. In addition, as a performer it’s titillating to know that you are bridging a taboo by having sex with a straight man. It’s something that I do not do in my private life, but personally find it very fulfilling on a porn shoot.

Adam Russo @adamrussoxxx

I really don’t mind. If a performer is disconnected to his partner and whats happening in the scene, then he’s just a bad performer, gay or straight. Period.
